Cabinet Maker Sketch

About

The Full Story

When I was little, I would spend one week of every summer vacation at my grandfather’s house in Gardiner, Maine. When he retired, my grandfather turned his two-car garage into a woodworking/cabinetmaking shop and would plan various projects for my brother and I to build while visiting.  Those summer trips are where my love for woodworking really took hold. I always had a sense of attention to detail and working with my hands allowed me to embrace that fully. I was fascinated by the things you could create with the right tools and a bit of imagination. Those little projects were the first chances I had to work with my hands and feel my creations come to life…and they had me hooked!

After graduating high school, I pursued a degree in carpentry and cabinet making from Johnson College in Pennsylvania.  I started the program with only the passion of making things by hand but graduated in 2007 with the knowledge and confidence of a craftsman. I started my career off as a carpenter with a custom home builder.  In 2011, I transitioned to working in a cabinet shop where I was able to refine my skills and continue enhancing my knowledge in the craft of cabinetmaking. I knew after only a few days in a cabinet shop that I was right where I belonged. It has been over 10 years since I started my first job as a cabinetmaker, and I still love doing it.  The feeling of pride after every build, knowing the difficulties that were overcome along the way, and being able to say to myself “I made that!” is the same after my most recent project as it was with my very first.

Ever since I entered the craft of cabinetmaking, it has been a dream of mine to one day have my own cabinet shop where I could start my own cabinet company. I wanted to be involved in the whole process, from start to finish, helping my clients bring their creations to life.  And with the formation of Stile & Rail Woodworks, my dream became a reality!

Through Stile & Rail Woodworks, I work with clients to design custom cabinetry that affords the best use of any space while incorporating their functionality needs and bringing their vision to life. With custom cabinetry, customers have input into the full design - from wood selection to stain/paint color choices to overall dimensions and functionality. At Stile & Rail Woodworks, clients get a truly one-of-a-kind project!

Stile & Rail Woodworks is a high-end custom shop built out of a love for the craft that pays attention to detail and designs solutions using the right tools and a little bit of imagination to bring your creations to life!
